Legendary NBA Player Jerry West Dies at Age 86

Hall of Famer and Warriors Executive Remembered

Jerry West, a legendary basketball player and executive, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86.

Known as "Mr. Clutch" for his ability to hit key shots in critical moments, West led the Los Angeles Lakers to nine NBA Finals appearances and won two titles in 1972 and 1973. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1980.

After his playing career, West served as general manager of the Lakers for several years before joining the Golden State Warriors in 2011 as an executive board member. He helped build the team into a dynasty, winning three NBA championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

West's contributions to the game of basketball will be remembered for generations. He was a fierce competitor on the court and a brilliant mind in the front office. His legacy will live on through the many players and teams he inspired.
